Good for the price

I have purchased 2 paddles for my kayak previously--a basic aluminum shaft starter paddle and an expensive carbon paddle. Several freinds have expressed interest in starting to paddle, one being 6 ft 4 in tall. Both of my paddles were too short for him to use in my boat. I purchased this
paddle just to get him started comfortably. He loved it. We both thought for the recreational, occasional flat water paddler , it was a good value. Well made for the price and comfortable to use. He felt the cupped design of the blade helped him get more out of his stroke. Recommend for tall beginners out for a leisurely day on the water.

Great starter paddle

I just bought a nice kayak that didnt have a paddle. I actually was astonished at the price of paddles. I think I made the right choice for my first paddle. The price was right, its light, its comfortable, it comes apart to store easily. It will make a great second paddle, if I ever buy a great paddle, which I may never do. I would say one thing, if your just starting dont spend money on a great paddle until you get a feel for what your doing and know what kind of "great" paddle you may want. I am beating the crap out of this one and if I had a "great" paddle right now I would have broken it at least twice.

Getting rid of junk

pretty decent utilitarian paddle. i think this is a better deal than all the other low end paddles out there, since shipping cost was zero.

Don't buy cheap paddles

Nothing against these particular paddles, but avoid cheap paddles. If you splurge on any item in your kayak budget it should be the paddles. If you paddle, you will develop a close relationship with your paddles - it can either be a good one or a bad one. You can markedly improve your paddling experience with a relatively small increase in spending. Good paddles will make you want to use your kayak.
