Actually supports dog in water and handle just about right place for lifting DOB (dog overboard) back in. This is actually a big problem for dog owners and this PFD is the only one we have used that is strong enough to get the dog back in the boat. The missing item is retro-reflective material to spot dog in water at night. We have added same, and a water activated strob light as well.
