I am a Lane Bryant size 18-20 at 54" with lots of curves. I ordered the Henderson Hyperstretch 3mm shorty for my trip to Mexico. I used to use a Neoprene size 14 back when I was that size a few years ago and because of my height, it was very long on the torso. As a result I used choke when I went under and had to leave the back zipper open at the top which let in water and so wasnt very warm. I also had to use a lycra skin to slip the suit on. In contrast, the Hyperstretch slipped on very easily, fit around all the curves (I ordered the size 14) and while there was a little extra room around the crotch area, it was still a great fit. There was some extra room at the top and I was a little cold for my first dive. So the next day I wore a fitted T-shirt under it and it was perfect. Just remember to add more weight to compensate for any changes you make. With the neoprene I always felt stiff and like I was entombed in something. But with this wetsuit I could move freely and concentrate on the dive and forget the rest. I may even consider ordering a size 12 to see if it fits a little more snuggly to allow less water in. Or I may order a 1mm skin in a size 12 and combine them for my next trip this winter.
