![]() A Beginner's Guide to Kayak Fishing Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 3 More Information Not Impressed, falls short. I purchased this book sight unseen. Big mistake! The information provided is very general for the topic. The book is a total of 99 pages with many pages left blank or has a lot of white space where text is found. All the photos are in B&W, small and of poor quality. Only 5 pictures are in color and are of a Home Depot, three for lodging, and one of a kayak store in Oregon. Go figure! The author does little in introducing the reader to the sport of kayak fishing. For and extra $4.00 dollars I would recommend the book The Ultimate Guide to Kayak Fishing by Scott Null and Joel McBride or the DVD - Kayak Fishing by Dennis Spike. Both present the sport in detail. You will get a lot of useful inforamtion here than what Fred Hill tries to cover in his book. This is the way beginners' books should be. This guide has enough information for a beginner to safely operate a kayak and plenty of tips about fishing. Ive fished from large deep sea boats, bass boats, canoes and piers. Kayak fishing presents some unique advantages and challenges. Fred Hill guides the reader through it all in a unique style that is fun to read and easy to follow. If you are interested in the subject, buy the book. great help for a beginner I got this book for my husband who just bought a kayak. He is fishing off the waters of Baffin Bay in Texas and I wanted him to be safe. He has read this book and keeps it as a guide. He learned so many tips from this book and is so glad I bought it for him. It covers everything you need to know about safety, what to do if you catch a big fish, how to store your kayak and so much more. Great book. I may even get my own kayak now. |
