A Guied to PUDDLE adventures,FIND A BETTER GIUDE-FELL WAY SHORT     On: 2007-07-21

I read this cover to cover, but it took a long time as I kept falling asleep. It fell way short of my expectations. It didnt really go into a lot of detail about any of the topics it listed, just a paragraph here and there. It did have a good section on what to bring along-day bag or back packing, what you would need and should bring in case of an emergency. It did tell you how to transport these items of all shapes, sizes, and even break-down canoes, overland very well.It tried to describe HOW to right a kyak, but then said NOT to try doing it unless a TRAINED person was with you.Kind of defeated the purpose of the book. As for buying one,it stated what was available at various prices ranges, for different waterways and said if you need help choosing to ask a salesperson to help you decide which was best for you.Again, kind of defeated the purpose of the book. But I was really disappointed with the "Where to Go" section. It didnt go anywhere; It flopped!.It listed some areas down south and out west but NOTHING about N.Y.s great rivers and tributaries.Nothing about New Englands rivers. It listed a few tourist traps, then said that IF you wanted to know about specific places ask your local Tourist Bureau, check out maps,or go online to find out where to go canoeing.Defeated its own purpose.WHY buy this book? For a couple good chapters?Find a better one as this is a flop!
