I purchased two of these nifty little boats, one for my sister-in-laws family, one for mine and were all thrilled with them. They are ultra-stable and incredibly comfortable - the seat is reffered to as an "all day" seat, and it is. Im a medium-level kayaker, my wife is a beginner and we both took to it like a duck to water, pun intended. It draws almost no water so you can go into very shallow areas, and it feels safe and sturdy enough to go into quite deep water. I wouldnt recommend it for river rafting or surf riding, because its not one of those you can do tricks and thrash around in. However, if you want an extremely durable, easy-to-use, safe and comfortable ride, this is it.

Great for beginners and wildlife watchers

This is my first kayak and I couldnt be happier with it. I use this kayak in still lakes and slow rivers/creeks (and ocassionally, the Delaware!), so I cant comment on how the boat does in more challenging areas. For what I use it for, the boat is very stable in the water and light enough for me to hoist onto my car by myself. This kayak is a single piece of polyethylene plastic, so its sturdy and offers slim to nil opportunity for any leakage. The kayak is easy to get in and out of and offers a very stable ride. I can lean back and soak up the sun if I want to without worrying about landing in the water if my concentration slips. This is a great kayak for wildlife watchers because you can spend more time watching wildlife and less time worrying about tipping over. The cockpit is large enough for me to fit in comfortably and foot pegs are in the right place. The cockpit seat is comfy enough for a smooth ride. Theres some spare room for extra gear, but the boat does not have watertight hatches. If you want hatches, you can order one of the other models. Also, Heritage makes other models that have fishing rod mounts already built in. So if youre looking to do fishing, you may want to check out the rest of the Heritage line. Heritage offers a skirt for this model as well. Overall I think this is a great little kayak. It is perfect for beginners, kids and people who like to be on top of the water with minimal chance of ending up IN the water!
